Kendall County Tax Information
Kendall County will host its Annual Delinquent Property Tax Sale Auction on October 28, 2024, at the Kendall County Historic Courthouse, 110 W. Madison St., Yorkville, IL 60560. Registration opens at 8:00 AM, and the auction begins at 9:00 AM. The sale will continue until all delinquent tax parcels have been auctioned.

Terms of Sale
To participate, pre-registration is required. Submit the bidder registration form and a $500 deposit to the Kendall County Collector’s Office by October 11, 2024.
The delinquent tax sale list can be purchased for $75.00. Note that this list is strictly for the use of participating in the tax sale, and unauthorized use of the information may result in disqualification.
Bidders or their representatives must be present at the sale. Bidding begins at 18%, with the lowest bid accepted. This percentage represents the 6-month interest rate on the unpaid taxes.
Payment for winning bids is due immediately after the auction. First-time buyers must use certified funds, while repeat buyers may use personal, business, or cashier’s checks.
How to Participate
Complete the registration form and submit it along with a W-9 and a $500.00 registration fee to the Kendall County Treasurer’s Office by October 11, 2024.
Ensure your payment method is ready as per the rules for first-time or repeat buyers.
Redemption Process
If a buyer purchased your property taxes at auction, you can redeem them by paying the due amount, plus interest, to that buyer. For the exact redemption amount, contact the Kendall County Clerk’s Office at 630-553-4104.
If you fail to redeem your taxes within 2 ½ years, the tax buyer may apply for a deed to your property.
