Kent County Tax Sale Auction Information

Kent County will host its annual Delinquent Property Tax Sale on August 26, 2026, at the online auction site: www.tax-sale.info. Registration will begin 30 days prior to the auction, with the auction starting at 10:00 AM EDT and closing at 7:00 PM EDT.

Terms of Sale:

The buyer must pay the full purchase price, the buyer’s premium (10% of the bid amount), any applicable current taxes, and a $30.00 deed recording fee within 5 business days of the auction closing.

You can make payments via wire transfer, certified check, or credit/debit card (with a 2.75% processing fee for credit/debit card payments).

Bidders must provide a $1,000 pre-authorization hold on a Visa, MasterCard, or Discover credit card before we accept any bids. The hold acts as a security deposit and will be released within 30 days, unless you win a bid and fail to complete the purchase.

How to Participate:

Create Your Account: Sign up at www.tax-sale.info to become a registered bidder. Ensure your account is active at least 48 hours before the auction starts.

Start Bidding: Online bidding opens 30 days before the auction. Place, modify, or delete your bids until the auction begins at 10:00 AM EDT.

Absentee Bidding: For those without internet access, absentee bids can be placed by calling 1-800-259-7470. A $1,000 pre-authorization is still required.

Payment: Winning bidders must make payment within 5 business days using wire transfer, certified check, or credit/debit card (with a 2.75% processing fee).
