Galveston County will conduct its Delinquent Property Tax Sale on First Tuesday of the month, through an online auction hosted at galveston.texas.sheriffsaleauctions.com. The sale opens at 10:00 AM Central Time, and all sales must conclude by 4:00 PM. Bidders must register online and have their deposits in place at least five business days prior to the auction.
Date: First Tuesday of the month
Location: Online at galveston.texas.sheriffsaleauctions.com
Time: 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM (CT)
Participants must fund their escrow account with 5% of their intended bid using ACH or wire transfer to bid.
All deposits must be settled and allocated to Galveston County before the sale begins.
The balance of any winning bid is due by 4:00 PM on the day of the sale, payable via wire transfer or counter delivery (cash, cashier’s check, or money order).
Deposits cannot be used toward final payment. If the final payment is delayed or misrouted, bidders will be charged a $100 Wire Convenience Fee.
The Sheriff will issue the deed within 2 to 4 weeks, without any warranty.
Register online through the Registration Wizard at least one business day before the auction.
Initiate deposits in advance—ACH deposits take five business days to settle, and wire transfers take two.
Use the Manage Escrow feature to fund and allocate deposits.
Bidding follows a proxy system, where the system bids up to your maximum in $100 increments.
If there’s a tie before the auction opens, the system will accept the first bid placed. Auction participation does not require in-person attendance. The County may remove properties without notice, and each sale lists the foreclosure file number.
The Galveston County tax auction provides an online opportunity to buy tax-delinquent properties at competitive rates. Register early, complete your deposit, and use the platform to place bids securely from anywhere. Always perform due diligence on each property and review auction rules thoroughly. The county does not guarantee the title, and properties may carry additional liens. Visit the official site for updates, instructions, and access to the auction platform
