Llano County conducts tax foreclosure sales and tax resales through an online public auction. The Llano County Sheriff’s Office runs the sale through Llano County auction website, allowing registered bidders to participate from any location with internet access.
Date: First Tuesday of the month
Location: Online through Realauction Llano County auction website
Auction Hours: 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Central Time
Llano County sells each property to the highest bidder. The auction system uses proxy bidding and increases bids by $100 over the next-highest bid until the bidder reaches the maximum amount entered.
A bid placed during the final 30 seconds adds one minute to the property’s bidding period. However, all bidding ends at 4:00 p.m. Central Time. The County may cancel or remove a property before or during the auction.
Successful bidders must pay the remaining purchase balance within 24 hours. The County accepts final payment by wire transfer or in person at the Llano County District Clerk’s Office. Failure to pay may cause deposit forfeiture and additional penalties.
Purchasers receive a sheriff’s tax sale deed or tax resale deed without any warranty. Llano County generally issues deeds within three to five weeks after receiving full payment.
Texas law gives some former property owners a statutory right to redeem the property after the sale. Residence homesteads, qualifying agricultural land, and mineral interests generally carry a two-year redemption period. Other real property generally carries a 180-day redemption period. The period normally starts when the purchaser’s deed enters the county records.

Llano County does not guarantee property values, legal descriptions, access, condition, boundaries, or clear title. Additional liens, mortgages, title defects, restrictions, and post-judgment taxes may remain.
Research every parcel before bidding. Check county records, appraisal information, maps, access, land use, title history, occupancy, environmental concerns, and unpaid taxes. Consider speaking with a Texas real estate attorney or title professional before purchasing.
The Llano County Texas tax foreclosure auction gives investors and buyers online access to tax-foreclosed real estate. Online bidding removes the need to attend an in-person sale. However, every property carries risk. Review the auction rules, complete registration early, fund the required deposit on time, and research each parcel before placing a bid.
