Citrus County will host its Delinquent Property Tax Sale on January 14, 2026, online at www.citrus.realtaxdeed.com. Registration and deposits must be completed before the auction, which begins promptly at 10:00 AM ET.

Terms of Sale

The sale is conducted in accordance with Florida Statutes, Chapter 197, and properties are sold as-is to the highest bidder.

Deposits: A deposit of $200 or 5% of the anticipated high bid (whichever is greater) is required for each property. Deposits must be cleared in advance via wire transfer, cashier’s check, money order, or cash, and must be received by 4:00 PM the business day before the sale.

Final Payment: You must pay winning bids, including state documentary stamps ($0.70 per $100) and recording fees, within 24 hours of the advertised auction time. Failure to pay will result in forfeiture of the deposit.

Properties might still have liens or encumbrances, so we encourage bidders to conduct thorough research before the auction.

Submit Deposit
Bidders must settle deposits in their accounts by 4:00 PM on the day before the auction. You can make deposits using wire transfers, cashier’s checks, money orders, or cash.

Review Property Listings
Access tax deed files online to review detailed information about each property, including opening bids and legal descriptions.

Participate in the Online Auction
Place proxy bids online, where the system will incrementally bid on your behalf up to your maximum bid.

Complete Payment
Winning bidders must pay the remaining balance, including fees, within 24 hours of the auction time at the Clerk’s Annex Building, 120 North Montgomery Ave., Inverness, FL 34450.
