Hancock County will host its upcoming Delinquent Property Tax Sale on August 1, 2025, at the Hancock County Courthouse, 500 Main Street, Carthage, IL 62321. Kristine Pilkington, Treasurer, will manage this sealed bid auction. Participants must submit bids online or in writing before the deadline.

Terms of Sale:
Submit full payment with each sealed bid
Acceptable payment methods: personal check, cashier’s check, money order, or bank draft
Make all payments payable to County Trustee
The highest bidder wins the property or mobile home
If two bids match, the county will request revised bids
Hancock County may reject any bid or withdraw parcels without notice
Properties and mobile homes sell as-is
Buyers are responsible for due diligence and personal inspections
County employees and their relatives may not participate in the sale

For Mobile Homes:
Submit a Sealed Bid – Purchase Offer with certified funds (cashier’s check, money order, or bank draft)
Move the mobile home within 30 days of receiving the Certificate of Title
Verify the VIN and provide a valid non-P.O. Box mailing address
The title cannot be mailed to out-of-state buyers
