Mathews County will host its Judicial Tax Delinquent Property Auction on July 15, 2025, at the Old Historic Courthouse, 27 Court Street, Mathews, Virginia 23109. Bidders may participate both in person and online through For Sale At Auction’s platform. The auction begins promptly at 1:00 PM.

Properties sell as-is, where-is, with no warranties
Sales require Circuit Court confirmation
All properties are conveyed by Special Warranty Deed
Deposit of 25% or $1,000 (whichever is higher), plus 10% buyer’s premium, due on auction day (in-person) or within 7 days (online)
The deposit cannot exceed $20,000 per parcel
Full balance and deed recording costs are due within 15 days of court confirmation
No cash accepted
In-person bidders must pay with a check or money order on auction day
Online bidders must register at forsaleatauction.biz and follow the electronic payment instructions
Buyers may not owe delinquent taxes to Mathews County
