Stone County Tax Sale Auction Information

Stone County will hold its Delinquent Property Tax Sale on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at the ASU Mountain Home – SHIED Building – Trout Nature Center, located at 1600 S College Street in Mountain Home, Arkansas. All interested bidders must arrive early to complete in-person registration before the auction begins promptly at 10:00 a.m. Central Time.

Terms of Sale:

The Commissioner of State Lands will finalize each sale at the time of the auction, and all parcels sold on or after July 1 are not eligible for redemption.

Every successful bidder must pay the entire purchase price immediately following the sale.

The office accepts the following forms of payment:

  • Personal checks

  • Business checks

  • Credit or debit cards (a 4% non-refundable processing fee applies)

  • Cashier’s checks or money orders

Do not bring cash to the sale, as the Commissioner strictly prohibits cash payments.

Bidders must come fully prepared with their payment method and a valid photo ID to complete registration and participate in the auction.

How to Participate:

Arrive at least 30 minutes before the auction to register on-site with the staff from the Commissioner’s office.

Present your government-issued photo ID and complete the numbered bidder registration card to receive your bidder number.

The auctioneer will offer each property in the exact order listed in the official auction catalog.

Each parcel will open at a minimum bid amount, which equals the total of delinquent taxes, penalties, interest, and fees associated with the property.

If you place the highest bid and meet all requirements, you will secure ownership of the parcel once you complete payment in full on auction day.
