Main St., Room 103, Princeton, IL 61356. Office hours run 8:00 AM–4:00 PM (CT). The minimum bid starts at $841.00.

Terms of Sale:

Sealed-Bid Only. You submit either an online bid at ILTaxSaleBids.com or a sealed written bid with full payment delivered to the Treasurer’s Office by the last day to bid listed in the sale catalog. The county awards each parcel to the highest bid received on time.

Payment with Sealed Bids: The Treasurer accepts personal check, cashier’s check, money order, or bank draft for sealed written bids. If another bidder tops your amount, the office returns your original payment.

Deed & Title: After you pay in full and the county completes processing, the county issues a quitclaim deed. You handle any title work you want (title search, insurance, or survey).

Future Taxes: You assume taxes and assessments going forward as the catalog specifies.

“As-Is” Property: You buy as-is. Inspect the parcel, check zoning and code status, and verify demolition orders or municipal liens before you bid.

Conflicts & Restrictions: Illinois law bars county officers, employees, and certain relatives from buying at this sale. The county may reject any bid or withdraw parcels.

Online bidding (recommended):

Create an account at ILTaxSaleBids.com.

Open the Bureau County sale page and place your highest bid (at or above $841.00).

If you win, follow the email instructions to pay in full within the stated deadline.

Sealed written bidding (in person or by mail):

Pick up the sale catalog and Binding Purchase Contract / Sealed Bid at the Treasurer’s Office (address above).

Fill in the Item #, Parcel #, bid amount, and buyer info.

Include full payment with your sealed bid envelope and deliver it to the Treasurer before the last day to bid shown in the catalog. Mail early if you can’t hand-deliver.
