Key Auction Details:
Date: August 14, 2026
Location: Crawford County Courthouse Annex, 100 Douglas Street, Robinson, IL 62454
Time: 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Terms of Sale:
Accept only online or sealed written bids—delivering bid and full payment to the Treasurer’s office or submitting bids via the online portal.
No verbal bidding allowed.
Use a personal check, cashier’s check, money order, or bank draft for sealed written bids. Ask the issuer about the refund policy; the county returns your original form if you are outbid.
County sells to the highest bidder. If tied bids occur, the county contacts bidders for further instructions.
The Treasurer’s office returns payments to unsuccessful bidders to the address on the sealed bid form (marked “void”).
The county reviews bids but may reject any or withdraw any parcel at any time without notice.
Some parcels might carry hazards or condemnations, or lack building/repair permit availability. County doesn’t guarantee freedom from code enforcement or demolition. You must investigate property restrictions before bidding.
Catalog item numbers may be skipped due to withdrawn parcels.
The catalog marks parcels with cross-hatching on plat maps. Each map shows approximate North orientation.
How to Participate:
Inspect the property—notice “AS IS” sale condition.
Decide your maximum bid—county accepts only the highest bid, no bidding rounds.
Online Bid: Create an account or log in at www.iltaxsalebids.com. Verify item number and property details, input name(s) for contract/deed, enter your bid (minimum $834.00), accept terms, submit. If you win, you’ll receive an email with payment instructions; you then must pay in full within 7 days or risk forfeiting the bid. Track bids via “View My Bids.”
Sealed Written Bid: Get the “Binding Purchase Contract / Sealed Bid” form from the Treasurer. Inspect the property. Fill in item number, parcel number, bid amount (minimum $834.00), name, address, phone, date, signature. Include full payment (no cash) payable to COUNTY TRUSTEE, with bid item number in memo. Enclose both in a sealed envelope labeled “SEALED BID — DO NOT OPEN” and deliver or mail to the Treasurer’s office—allow enough time for arrival before the last bidding day. Certified mail or delivery confirmation recommended.
County mails results ~7 days after last bidding day. If unsuccessful, your payment returns “void,” and you’ll get a notice of the winning bid amount.
