Terms of Sale

You submit your highest bid; the county accepts the highest valid bid. The county may reject any bid and withdraw parcels at any time. Properties sell as-is; you check title, zoning, code, and demolition status before bidding. County officers and employees cannot purchase.

Payment (Real Estate): Online winners receive email instructions and must pay in full within 7 days. Sealed written bids delivered to the Treasurer must include full payment (personal check, cashier’s check, money order, or bank draft). If outbid, the office returns your original payment.

Payment (Mobile Homes): Submit certified funds only (cashier’s check, money order, or bank draft) with your sealed bid; land does not transfer with the unit. The buyer must move the unit within 30 days or qualify for park tenancy when applicable. Minimums often publish as $915—confirm in the current catalog.

Deed/Title & Taxes: Real estate conveys by quitclaim deed after processing; you pay future taxes beginning January 1, 2026. Mobile homes convey by Tax Certificate of Title through the Illinois Secretary of State process.

How to Participate

Option 1 — Bid Online: Create an account at the state vendor’s portal and submit your bid for the specific LaSalle County item. Track bids under “View My Bids.”

Option 2 — Deliver a Sealed Bid: Pick up the Binding Purchase Contract / Sealed Bid form from the Treasurer or the sale catalog, inspect the property, fill out the Item #, Parcel #, bid amount, and purchaser details, sign, and deliver the sealed envelope with full payment to the Treasurer by 4:30 p.m. CT on Sept. 19, 2025. Mailed bids must arrive by the deadline.
