Richland County, Illinois, will hold its real estate and mobile home sealed‑bid auction on August 14, 2026, at the Richland County Courthouse, located at 103 W. Main Street, Olney, IL 62450. Registration and bid submissions take place in the Treasurer’s office (Room 13), open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Terms of Sale
You must submit bids either online via iltaxsalebids.com or deliver a completed Binding Purchase Contract / Sealed Bid with full payment by the “last day to bid.” The county accepts personal checks, cashier’s checks, money orders, or bank drafts. Cash doesn’t count. The minimum bid is $860.00. Highest bidder wins. County may reject any or all bids and withdraw any parcel without notice. Properties sell “as-is.” Inspect them and verify title and permits before bidding. County employees and their relatives may not bid
How to Participate
Online Bidding
Visit iltaxsalebids.com, create or log into your account.
Physically inspect properties first (all sales are “as‑is”).
Enter item number, parcel details, names for deed, and bid amount (min. $860).
Agree to terms and submit. If you win, you’ll get an email with payment instructions. Pay in full within 7 days, or your bid is void. View your bids under “View My Bids.”
Sealed Written Bid
Get a catalogue and official bid form from the Treasurer.
Carefully fill in item number, parcel number, bid amount, contact details, and sign.
Include full payment (no cash), payable to County Trustee, and note item number in memo.
Place bid and payment in a sealed envelope marked “SEALED BID” and deliver or mail to the Treasurer before the deadline. Certified mail recommended.
You’ll receive results by mail about 7 days after the bidding deadline. Successful bidders get a signed contract; others have their payment returned
