Wexford County Tax Sale Auction Information
Wexford County’s annual delinquent property tax sale will take place on August 27, 2026. This auction will be held exclusively online at www.tax-sale.info. Registration will begin 30 days before the sale date. To participate in bidding, you need to create a free account and set up a $1,000 pre-authorization hold on a major credit card.
The auction will start at 10:00 AM EDT and will conclude at 7:00 PM EDT. Bidders may begin placing and updating their advance bids 30 days before the auction starts. When the auction goes live at 10:00 AM, they can increase their bids, but they cannot delete or lower them. At 7:00 PM, the auction will award all lots to the highest bidder…

Terms of Sale
You must have an active account with a $1,000 pre-authorization to bid. This hold lasts 30 days and is not charged unless you fail to pay. Credit cards are recommended over debit cards to avoid holding funds from your bank account.
Once bidding opens, you can increase bids but not reduce or cancel them.
If you win, your total due includes:
The winning bid
A 10% buyer’s premium
Current summer property taxes
A $30 deed recording fee
You have five business days after the sale to complete payment and return notarized paperwork. Accepted payment methods include wire transfer, certified check, or online credit/debit card (2.75% processing fee applies).
All property sells as-is, where-is, with no refunds. However, the treasurer may cancel a sale before deed delivery. If so, you’ll receive a full refund.
You receive a quitclaim deed, and all back taxes are already included in the minimum bid. You are responsible for current summer taxes and any listed special assessments.
How to Participate
Create a free account at www.tax-sale.info using your legal name and matching ID.
Activate bidding with a $1,000 hold on a credit card. This deposit stays active for 30 days.
Place advance bids starting 30 days before the auction.
Join the live auction on August 4 at 10:00 AM EDT. You can increase bids but cannot lower or delete them.
Submit payment and paperwork within five business days if you win. Paperwork must be notarized either digitally or in person.
Absentee bidding is available by calling 1-800-259-7470 for those without internet access.
