Berkeley County will host its annual Delinquent Property Tax Sale on Monday, November 18, 2024, at the Lowcountry Conference Center (Hilton Garden Inn/Homewood Suites), 406 Sigma Drive, Summerville, SC 29486. Registration for bidding is required in advance and will run from October 31 through November 11, 2024. The auction begins at 10:00 a.m. and concludes at 4:00 p.m. If additional days are needed to complete the auction, an announcement will be made. Mobile Home sales will follow the Land Sale.

Time: 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on November 18; 9:30 a.m. start on additional days if required

Terms of Sale:

Payment must be made on the day of sale using cash, cashier’s check, bank-issued money orders, or approved attorney’s trust checks.

Successful bidders must note that purchased properties are subject to a one-year redemption period by the defaulting taxpayer.

Berkeley County allows interest accrual on winning bids, increasing every three months up to 12%.

Register Online: Visit Berkeley County’s registration site from October 31 to November 11, 2024.

Attend In-Person or Online: Choose in-person or online participation, complete with government-issued photo ID verification on the sale day.

Review Listings: Starting on October 31, 2024, the Charleston Post and Courier will publish property listings both in print and online, updating them weekly.

Complete Payment by Deadline: Payment is due immediately following the auction for successful bids.
