DuPage County Tax Information

DuPage County will host its annual Delinquent Property Tax Sale on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at the DuPage County Administration Building, Auditorium, 421 N. County Farm Road, Wheaton, Illinois 60187. Registration begins on October 1, 2024, and closes on October 31, 2024. The tax sale starts promptly at 9:00 AM and will continue until all delinquent parcels are sold.

Terms of Sale:

The auction follows Illinois Compiled Statutes Chapter 35, Act 200, Article 21, where tax buyers will bid on delinquent property tax liens. Bidding starts at 9% interest per six-month period, and the lien is awarded to the buyer offering the lowest interest rate. They sold off the properties as-is, where-is, with no guarantees regarding title insurance or property conditions. Tax buyers are responsible for investigating properties before the auction. If a property does not receive a sufficient bid, we will re-offer it at the next tax sale.

The sale is lien-only, and bids will be entered into the automated RAMS 2 system via USB drives submitted by registered tax buyers. The auction is highly competitive, and if multiple buyers submit the same lowest bid, a random selection process will determine the winning bid.

How to Participate:

Register between October 1 and October 31, 2024. They Require A W9 Form (PDF) and a Tax Sale Registration Form (PDF); bidders can only have one active registration.

Deposit: They require A deposit of $500 during registration. Failure to attend the auction will result in forfeiture of the deposit.

Bid Submission: Tax buyers must submit bids electronically via USB on the day of the auction.

Payments: They will accept Only cash or cashier’s checks made payable to the DuPage County Collector for final payment. Buyers must settle all purchases by 3:00 PM on November 22, 2024.
