Brazoria County Tax Sale Information

Brazoria County will conduct its Delinquent Property Tax Sale on First Tuesday of the month, hosted by the Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office at the Commissioners’ Courtroom, Brazoria County Courthouse Campus – Administration Building, 237 East Locust St., Second Floor, Suite 205, Angleton, TX 77515. Registration begins on-site, and the auction starts promptly at 10:00 AM – 4:00 AM.

Terms of Sale

Title and Deed: Winning bidders will receive a Sheriff’s Deed without warranty. All properties are sold “as-is” and “where-is,” with no guarantees regarding title, liens, or property condition.

Bidder Eligibility: By Texas law, all bidders must present a “Statement of No Delinquent Tax” from the Brazoria County Tax Office before participating. This document confirms no outstanding tax obligations in Brazoria County. Requests should be submitted at least 10 days prior to the sale with a $10 processing fee.

Payment Requirements: Accepted forms of payment include cash, money order, or cashier’s check payable to the Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office. Personal or company checks require a bank-issued Letter of Guaranty. Payment must be exact, and no change will be provided.

Bidder Responsibility: Winners must make their payment immediately after the auction ends. If they do not pay by 12:00 p.m. on the day of the sale, we may reoffer the property, and non-paying bidders could face penalties.
