Prince George’s County will hold its annual Delinquent Property Tax Sale on May 12, 2025, through an Internet-based, sealed bid auction at the Prince George’s County Tax Sale Website. Registration is required in April, and the auction begins on May 12, 2025, at 10:00 AM EST.

Terms of Sale

The tax sale will include properties with unpaid State, County, and municipal taxes.

The county will use the high bid premium method, requiring an additional premium for bids exceeding 40% of a property’s assessed value.

Bidders must register online, submit a $150 non-refundable registration fee, and pay a $1,000 deposit via ACH debit before the auction.

Bidders are responsible for ensuring funds are available for all successful bids.

Winning bidders must pay by wire transfer or cashier’s check by 3:00 PM EST the day after the sale.

How to Participate

Register Online: Bidders must complete online registration on the Prince George’s County Tax Sale website. The county will not accept mail-in or email registrations.

Pay Registration Fee & Deposit: You must pay a $150 non-refundable registration fee and a $1,000 deposit via ACH debit. The county will apply the deposit to purchases or refund it if no certificates are awarded.

Submit a W-9 Form: All bidders must upload a valid W-9 form during registration.

Bid Submission:

Bidding starts on May 6, 2025, and closes on May 12, 2025.

You can submit bids as a dollar value or a bid factor (a percentage of the assessed value).

The highest bidder in each batch will receive the tax lien certificates.
