Portage County Tax Sale Information

Portage County will host its Delinquent Property Tax Sale on February 10, 2025, at the Portage County Justice Center, 8240 Infirmary Road, Ravenna, OH 44266. Registration for the auction will take place online or in person through the official public sheriff’s sale website prior to the auction’s start. The auction will begin promptly at 11:00 AM Eastern Time.

Terms of Sale

Properties are sold “as is, where is.”

Tax Sale deposits are 10% of the winning bid.

Payments must be made by ACH or wire transfer by the specified deadlines.

Additional fees for successful bidders include:

Recorder’s fee: $34.00 for the first two pages and $8.00 for each additional page.

Sheriff’s administrative/recording fee: $40.00

Auditor’s conveyance fee: 0.4% of the purchase price (rounded up to the nearest $100.00) plus $0.50 per parcel.

Sheriff’s deed fee: $50.00

Final payments must be made within 30 days of the confirmation of sale filing via cashier’s check to the Portage County Sheriff.

How to Participate

Register: Complete the Purchaser Information Form.

Submit Deposit: Send deposits via ACH or wire transfer by the following deadlines:

  • Wire transfers: Received by 5:00 PM Eastern Time two business days before the auction.
  • ACH debit: Received by 4:00 PM Eastern Time five business days before the auction.
