Butler County will host its annual Tax Lien Auction on April 17, 2026, at 10:00 AM CDT. The auction will be conducted online through the GovEaseplatform, with registration open from March 18, 2026, at 8:30 AM CDT through April 16, 2026, at 4:30 PM CDT.

Terms of Sale in Butler County:

Deposit Requirement:
Bidders must submit a refundable deposit equal to 10% of their desired bidding limit. For example, a $12,000 bidding limit requires a $1,200 deposit. GovEase must receive the deposit before approving registration.

Payment Methods:
Deposits and payments must be made via ACH/e-check or domestic wire transfer. Credit and debit cards are not accepted.

Payment Deadline:
Full payment is due within 24 hours after the auction ends. You can complete payments through the “My Payments” section on the GovEase platform.

Refunds:

They process refunds within 7 to 10 business days after the auction concludes, and we return them using the same payment method you used for the deposit.
