Iron County Tax Sale Information

Iron County will host its annual Delinquent Property Tax Sale on Thursday, May 22, 2025, conducted online only at  www.publicsurplus.com. Registration takes place on the same website, and the auction starts at 10:00 AM MDT (12:00 PM EST).

Terms of Sale

Auction conducted through www.publicsurplus.com to the highest bidder

Properties sold as-is with no warranties

Two bidding tiers:

• Tier 1: $50 deposit for properties with tax value under $10,000

• Tier 2: $100 deposit for properties with tax value over $10,000

Deposits must be paid by credit card when placing your first bid

Non-winning deposits are refunded after the sale

Winning bidders must pay in full via wire transfer by May 30, 2025

An 8% buyer premium (minimum $1) is added to the final price

Buyers are responsible for paying all 2025 property taxes

They do not accept partial payments.

How to Participate

Register in advance at www.publicsurplus.com

Pay the required deposit by credit card based on the property tier

Bid on May 22 once the auction opens

Winning bidders receive payment instructions by email

Submit full payment by wire transfer within 5 business days

Deeds will be mailed 4–6 weeks after payment is confirmed and recorded

Wire transfer memo must include auction number and your name
