Columbia County Tax Sale Information

Columbia County will hold its upcoming Tax Deed Sale on September 8, 2025, beginning at 11:00 a.m. All sales take place in person on the third floor of the Columbia County Courthouse, Courtroom 1, unless otherwise noted. The opening bid may change as amounts are verified before the sale.

Time: 11:00 a.m.

Terms of Sale:

Winning bidders must immediately provide a nonrefundable deposit of 5% of the final bid amount or $200—whichever is greater—in cash.

The remainder must be paid within 24 hours using verified funds. Columbia County does not accept personal or business checks for any part of the payment.

Sales follow Chapter 197 of the Florida Statutes. The Clerk of the Circuit Court manages the process and issues the tax deed to the highest bidder.

The sale does not involve a court case or court order. All sales are final and offered under “buyer beware.” A tax deed purchase does not guarantee clear or marketable title.

How to Participate:

Attend the auction in person on the scheduled date.

Be prepared to submit the required deposit in cash and follow up with verified payment within the 24-hour window.

Review all legal descriptions and property details thoroughly before bidding.
