Hamilton County Tax Sale Information

Hamilton County will hold its delinquent property tax sale on August 5, 2025, at 10:00 AM, on the steps outside the northeast portico of the County Courthouse, 102 North Rice Street, Hamilton, Texas. Registrants must sign up with the Deputy conducting the sale before 10:00 AM. The auction begins promptly at 10:00 AM.

Terms of Sale:

Accept payment only in cash or cashier’s check — payable to Hamilton County Appraisal District.

Texas law gives a redemption period of up to 2 years for homestead or agricultural properties and 180 days for others, following the sale date.

How to Participate:

Arrive early. Register with the Deputy at the sale location before 10 AM.

Bring payment as cash or cashier’s check to the Hamilton County Appraisal District at the time of payment.

The auction starts right at 10:00 AM on August 5; bid actively and follow the Deputy’s instructions.

If you win a bid, pay immediately or your claim can be void.
