Key Auction Details:

Date: Friday, October 3, 2025 (last day to bid; sealed‑bid close)
Location: Clark County Treasurer, Clark County Courthouse, 501 Archer Avenue, Marshall, IL 62441
Office Hours for In‑Person Delivery: 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. CT
Auction Type: Real Estate – Sealed Bid (County Trustee sale)
Minimum Bid: $833 (see catalog for item‑level details)

Terms of Sale:

Submit one sealed written bid per envelope with a completed Binding Purchase Contract / Sealed Bid and full payment. Acceptable forms: personal check, cashier’s check, money order, or bank draft. Do not submit cash. If someone outbids you, the office returns your original payment.

You may bid online instead of on paper. If you win online, watch for the payment email and meet the deadline shown in the sale catalog or winner notice. Online and sealed‑bid payment timelines vary by county; catalogs commonly specify 7–10 days.

The County sells each parcel to the highest bidder. If two bidders submit the same winning amount, the tax agent contacts those bidders with next‑step instructions.

The County conveys its interest by quitclaim deed after it receives full payment and processes the transfer; the contract explains timing and steps. The County and its agent do not guarantee title. You handle any title exam or survey and you may rescind only under the contract’s stated conditions for unmarketable title.

Future taxes: You pay taxes that accrue after the sale under the contract’s “Future Taxes” section. Consult the catalog for the exact start period for this sale year.

Eligibility: County officers, employees, and their relatives cannot purchase.

Due diligence: Inspect every property. Some parcels may carry code issues, demolition actions, or municipal fees. Contact local authorities before you bid. The County may reject any bid or withdraw items without notice.

How to Participate:

Create an account at ILTaxSaleBids to place online bids.

Get the sale catalog and item numbers from ILTaxSale or the Treasurer’s Office.

Inspect each property in person and confirm access, utilities, and local requirements.

Submit your bid(s):
Online: enter your maximum bid per item, accept the terms, and submit.
Sealed written bid: complete the Binding Purchase Contract / Sealed Bid with the Item # and Parcel #, sign, include full payment, and deliver in a sealed envelope labeled SEALED BID to the Treasurer during office hours.
