Refunds for unused deposits or overpayments typically return 7 to 10 business days after the auction finishes, using the same payment method used during registration.

How to Participate

Investors must complete registration through the GovEase platform before the deadline. The registration process requires identity verification, electronic signatures, and any documents listed in the bidder requirements.

Once GovEase approves the registration, investors gain access to the auction dashboard and the parcel list. Pre-bidding opens one day before the sale, allowing participants to place early bids before the live auction clock begins.

During the auction, the system lists each parcel individually. The bid clock runs for 30 seconds, and each new bid adds 10 seconds to the clock. This format allows other participants to respond before the bidding closes.

After winning a lien certificate, investors must complete payment by April 8, 2026 at 4:30 PM CDT.

Important Notes for Investors

Geneva County allows First Right Claims before the auction. Investors who hold certain prior tax claims must submit and complete those claims through GovEase before March 31, 2026 at 4:30 PM Central Time.

Failure to complete payment by the deadline may result in automatic account debit or removal from the auction platform.
