Enclose full payment with any sealed written bid. Accepted forms: personal check, cashier’s check, money order, or bank draft, payable to County Trustee. Do not send cash.

The County sells to the highest bid. If a tie occurs, the County will contact tied bidders with next‑step instructions.

Properties sell as‑is. Inspect parcels and verify permits, code issues, demolition orders, and municipal liens before you bid.

The County issues a Quitclaim Deed after payment; allow about 90 days for recording and delivery.

You pay future taxes beginning with the 2026 tax year.

Eligibility: County officers, County employees, and their relatives cannot purchase under Illinois law (County Officer Property Sale Act, 55 ILCS 55/1).

The County may reject any bid and may withdraw any parcel without prior notice.

After the deadline, unsold parcels typically move to an after‑sale list at the minimum bid via ILTaxSale/ILTaxSaleBids.

These trustee sales remove past‑due taxes; you bid on purchase price only.
