Montgomery County Tax Sale Information

Montgomery County will host its monthly Treasurer’s Tax Sale on May 1, 2025, at the Montgomery County Administration Building, Lower Level Auditorium, 451 W. Third St., Dayton, OH 45422. Registration takes place in person before the auction, which starts at 10:00 AM EST.

Terms of Sale:

Deposit: The successful bidder must provide a deposit of $1,000 plus transfer and recording fees immediately following the sale. Accepted forms of payment include cash, a certified check, or a personal check (from a local bank) with a valid ID.

Final Payment: The remaining balance must be paid by certified or cashier’s check to the Montgomery County Sheriff within 15 days of the confirmation filing date. The Sheriff’s Office will handle the deed transfer and recording within 14 days of receiving the final payment.

How to Participate:

Register Online: All bidders must register with Realauction on the Montgomery County Foreclosure Auction website, which includes completing the Purchaser Information Form.

Attend In-Person Auction: This live auction will be held at the specified location. Arrive early to complete any remaining registration steps.

Make Immediate Deposit: Bring the required deposit payment to finalize your winning bid, as well as funds for transfer and recording fees.
