Luzerne County Tax Sale Auction Information

Luzerne County will host its annual Public Tax Sale on September 18, 2025, at the King’s College Scanlon Physical Education Center, 150 N. Main Street, Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. Registration is available at the Luzerne County Tax Claim Bureau, and the auction will start promptly at 10:00 AM.

Terms of Sale:

The sale will include properties with unpaid 2022 real estate taxes, municipal claims, and other costs.

Payment must be made in full by 4:00 PM on the sale day in the form of cash, certified check, or money order.

Properties are sold “as is” with no guarantee of title, structure, or condition.

No redemption period after the sale; all sales are final.

To participate, you must pay a $50 registration fee and a $5,000 deposit (or $1,000 for re-offers).

Bidders must certify that they are not delinquent in taxes within Luzerne County or acting on behalf of someone who is.

How to Participate:

Register by April 11, 2025, at 4:00 PM. Registration must be completed in person.

Pay the $50 registration fee to the Tax Claim Bureau.

Submit a $5,000 deposit by April 11, 2025, for general sale properties.You must provide $1,000 for re-offers.

Bidders must certify that they are not delinquent in property taxes or municipal utility bills in Luzerne County.

Note: Because of limited seating, only registered bidders may attend the auction. We will ask non-registered individuals to leave.
