Pittsylvania County Tax Sale Auction Information

Pittsylvania County will host its annual Delinquent Property Tax Sale on April 9, 2025, at the Pittsylvania County Community Center, 115 S. Main Street, Chatham, Virginia. Registration begins at 11:00 AM, with the auction starting at 12:00 PM.

Terms of Sale:

Properties are sold via Special Warranty Deed, subject to existing easements, covenants, and restrictions.

The county sell the Properties as-is, where-is, with all faults and no warranty, either expressed or implied.

They sell the properties in gross and not by the acre.

All property sales are final and binding; failure to complete the purchase may result in forfeiture of funds and additional damages.

The winning bid will include a 10% buyer’s premium (with a minimum of $150.00).

How to Participate:

Review the auction terms carefully, conduct a visual inspection of properties, and obtain an independent title search at your own expense.

Register in person on the day of the auction at the Pittsylvania County Community Center before the auction begins.

You must make the payment immediately after the auction using a personal check, cashier’s check, or money order. They do not accept cash.
