Taos County Tax Sale Information

Taos County will host its annual Delinquent Property Tax Sale on May 29, 2025, at the Taos County Auction located at 105 Albright St., Taos, NM 87571. Registration will begin at 9:00 AM, with the auction starting promptly at 10:00 AM.

Terms of Sale:

Bidders must register and obtain a bidder number from the auctioneer. Registration will close promptly at the start of the auction.

Successful bidders must pay in full before the conclusion of the auction, using a money order, certified check, cashier’s check, or personal/business check with a bank letter of credit.

Make all payments to the Property Tax Division of the Taxation and Revenue Department.

The department will issue a deed once they receive the payment, but the buyer cannot enter the property until they receive the deed.

The property tax lien is extinguished upon payment, but other liens may still remain.

.The sale may be subject to a 120-day federal IRS redemption period.

How to Participate:

Registration: Be sure to register by 9:00 AM on the day of the auction to receive your bidder number.

Payment: Prepare to pay in full immediately after winning a bid. Accepted payment methods include money orders, certified checks, and personal or business checks with a bank letter of credit.
