Terms of Sale

Property owners must pay their property taxes annually to the Walton County Tax Collector. If taxes remain unpaid, a tax certificate is sold, representing a lien on the property. After a minimum of two years, but not exceeding seven years, certificate holders may apply for a tax deed sale to satisfy the lien.

Bidders must pay a non-refundable deposit of $200 or 5% of the winning bid (whichever is greater) at the time of sale.

You must pay the remaining balance, along with applicable fees (including recording fees and documentary stamp taxes), within 24 hours.

Bidders must research property conditions and title status, as they sold the properties “as is.”.
