Autauga County Tax Sale Auction Information

Autauga County, Alabama will hold its annual Delinquent Property Tax Lien Auction on April 14, 2026, through the online auction platform operated by GovEase. Bidders must complete registration between March 13, 2026 at 8:30 AM CDT and April 13, 2026 at 4:30 PM CDT. Pre-bidding opens on April 13, 2026 at 8:30 AM CDT, and the live auction begins April 14, 2026 at 10:00 AM CDT.

Investors compete for tax lien certificates on properties with unpaid property taxes. Alabama tax lien sales use a percent bid-down system, where bidders compete by lowering the interest rate they accept on the lien.

Terms of Sale

Autauga County conducts its tax lien auction using a percent bid-down method. Each lien begins at the maximum interest rate allowed under Alabama law. Bidders lower the rate in one-percent increments until one bidder remains.

The auction uses a 30-second bid clock, and the system adds a 10-second reset whenever a new bid appears.

Bidders must submit a refundable deposit equal to 10 percent of the total spending limit requested during registration. For example, a bidder requesting a $12,000 bidding limit must deposit $1,200. GovEase must receive the deposit before approving the bidder.

Winning bidders must pay for purchased liens within 24 hours after the auction ends. GovEase processes payments for the county.

Credit cards and debit cards are not accepted.

How to Participate

Investors must register online through GovEase before the registration deadline. During registration, bidders must upload and sign all required forms listed in the GovEase registration portal.

After completing registration, bidders submit the required deposit based on their requested bidding limit. GovEasereviews the documents and approves qualified bidders.

Once approved, investors may place bids during the pre-bidding period and continue bidding when the auction begins. The system displays parcels individually and automatically updates the bid clock when new bids appear.

Autauga County also offers First Right Claims through GovEase. Investors who qualify may claim certain parcels before the main auction window. The claim period runs March 13 through April 9 at 4:30 PM CDT, and buyers must complete payment for claimed parcels by the claim deadline.
