Lubbock County will host its Tax Foreclosure Property Sale on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, on the Courthouse steps at the location designated by the Commissioners’ Court. The auction begins at 10:00 a.m. sharp. Registration and eligibility requirements must be completed prior to the sale.

Terms of Sale:

Sale Format: The sale is conducted by the Sheriff or Constable of Lubbock County. Properties are sold “as is,” “where is,” with no warranty. Winning bidders receive a Sheriff or Constable’s deed, which comes with no guarantee on the title, condition, or location of the property.

Right of Redemption: Most properties sold will have a six-month redemption period. However, agricultural land, mineral interests, and residential homestead properties are subject to a two-year redemption period, allowing the original owner time to redeem the property.

Buyer Responsibility: Bidders must conduct thorough research on title, encumbrances, and property conditions. Only the legal description is binding, not any listed street address. Purchasers will also be responsible for the full 2024 property taxes in addition to their winning bid amount.

Payment Requirements: Bidders must pay in full for winning bids on the day of the sale. Accepted payment methods include Cashier’s Checks.

Bidder Eligibility: All bidders must present an unexpired Written Statement (Form 50-307) from the Lubbock Central Appraisal District (LCAD) confirming no delinquent taxes are owed in Lubbock County. This statement costs $10 and must be requested at least seven business days before the sale(Wednesday, November 27, 2024). Each statement remains valid for 90 days and you need to provide it at registration..

How to Participate:

Obtain a Written Statement of No Delinquent Taxes Due: Download Form 50-307 from the LCAD website under Forms > Other Forms, and request it in person from LCAD at least seven days before the sale. This statement must be current, unexpired, and presented at the time of registration.

The deadline for submitting a Request for Written Statement About Delinquent Taxes for Tax Foreclosure Sale (Form 50-307) for the December 3, 2024, tax sale is Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at 3:00 pm. To complete Form 50-307, you must notarize the form and pay the $10.00 fee using certified funds.

Arrive Early on Auction Day: Check-in begins on the courthouse steps before 10:00 a.m. Ensure you have completed all registration and certification requirements in advance.
