Childress County Tax Sale Information

Childress County will host its Tax Foreclosure Property Sale Auction on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, on the Courthouse steps at a location designated by the commissioners’ court. Registration is required with the Childress County Appraisal District by 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Friday, May 2, 2025. The auction will start promptly at 1:00 p.m.

Terms of Sale:

Sale Format: This is a tax foreclosure sale conducted by the Sheriff or Constable of Childress County. Properties are sold “as is,” “where is,” without warranty. Buyers receive a Sheriff or Constable’s deed that carries no guarantees on title or property condition.

Buyer Responsibility: They encourage prospective buyers to conduct title research and property inspections, including checking for encroachments, before the sale. Neither Childress County nor associated parties guarantee the title or condition of properties.

Additional Taxes: Buyers are responsible for paying any taxes beyond the minimum bid amount separately.

Pre-register by Noon on May 2, 2025: Complete registration by contacting the Childress County Appraisal District by the required deadline.

Research Properties in Advance: Buyers are responsible for due diligence, including title and property condition research, as the County sell all properties “buyer beware.”

Arrive Early for Check-in: Arrive at the courthouse steps before the 1:00 p.m. start time on May 6, 2025, to check in and participate in the auction.
