Newton County Tax Sale Information

The Kirbyville Consolidated Independent School District in Newton County will hold its upcoming Delinquent Property Tax Sale on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at the Newton County Courthouse, located at 110 Court Street, Newton, TX 75966. The auction begins promptly at 10:00 a.m., and registration with an approved Bidder Application Form is required.

Terms of Sale:

Sale Format: The tax sale will be conducted by the Sheriff or Constable of Newton County. They sell properties “as is” and “where is,” without providing a warranty. Successful bidders will receive a Sheriff or Constable’s deed, but no guarantees are provided regarding the title, property condition, or suitability for use.

Buyer Responsibility: Bidders must independently verify all title, property location, and encumbrance details, as Newton County does not offer any assurances. All properties are sold with the understanding that buyers should exercise caution. Buyers are responsible for any additional taxes beyond the minimum bid amount, and they must pay these separately.

Bidder Requirements: All bidders must have a No Tax Due Certificate on file with the Newton County Tax Assessor’s Office by Wednesday, November 27, 2024. To apply for the certificate, you must submit a $10 processing fee in advance.

Payment Instructions: Winning bidders must submit payment to the Newton County Appraisal District by 2:00 p.m. on the day of the sale using cash or a cashier’s check.

How to Participate:

Register and Sign In Arrive 30 minutes early with your Bidder Application Form and check in at the sign-in location near the courthouse gazebo to obtain your bidder number.

Conduct Independent Research: Review property listings and perform any necessary title, condition, and encumbrance research on desired properties. They offer the Properties without warranties, so diligent research is essential.

Complete Payment by 2:00 p.m.: Submit payment for any winning bid by 2:00 p.m. on December 3 to the Newton County Appraisal District.  Accepted payment forms are cash and cashier’s checks.
