Elbert County Tax Information

Elbert County will host its annual Delinquent Property Tax Sale Auction on November 19, 2024, at the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) Board Room, located at 215 Comanche Street, Kiowa, CO 80117. Registration begins at 8:00 AM, with the auction starting at 9:00 AM. In case of inclement weather, an alternate date of November 26, 2024, has been set. The event will continue until all eligible properties are sold.

Terms of Sale

Deposit: They require a $500 registration fee.

Forms: Complete the registration form, Compliance Declaration, and W-9.

Payment: You can make all payments using certified funds, such as cashier’s checks or money orders. They Do not Accept Personal checks, credit cards, and online payments.

How to Participate

Pre-Registration: Email your completed registration forms to [email protected] or mail them to P.O. Box 67, Kiowa, CO 80117. Alternatively, bring them in person to the event.

Delinquent Property List: The Ranchland News will advertise the list from October 10, 2024, to October 24, 2024, and the county will make it available on the website..

Bidding: Bidders must be present to participate in the live auction. There will be no online or phone bids.
