Lake County Tax Sale Information

Lake County will conduct its upcoming Delinquent Property Tax Sale Auction on December 30, 2024 through Lake County Sheriff Sale Auction Website in accordance with Ohio Revised Code. The event allows buyers to bid on properties with delinquent taxes or foreclosure liens, presenting a unique opportunity for acquiring real estate. All interested bidders must register online and complete the Purchaser Information Form in advance.

Terms of Sale:

Deposit Requirements:

  1. Properties Appraised at $10,000 or Less: $2,000 deposit
  2. Properties Appraised between $10,001 and $200,000: $5,000 deposit
  3. Properties Appraised above $200,000: $10,000 deposit

Payment Methods: Deposits are accepted only by ACH or bank wire transfer. No cash deposits. Deadlines are as follows:

ACH: Initiate by 4 PM ET, five business days before the sale.

Wire: Must arrive by 5 PM ET, two business days before the sale.

Bidding Process:

Bidders can submit proxy bids up to seven days before the sale. Each property will be auctioned individually, and bids are submitted online in whole $100 increments.

No deposit is required for Judgment Creditors, who must register and submit proof of their court order at least one business day before the sale.

Final Payment: Full payment is due within 30 days of court sale confirmation. Failure to pay in time may result in the forfeiture of deposits.
