The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office will conduct Probate and Tax Sales in person at the Wayne County Justice Center, located at 201 West North Street, Wooster, Ohio 44691. The sales will begin promptly at 10:00 a.m.

Terms of Sale

Deposit Requirements for In-Person Auctions:
Deposits must be in the form of a Cashier’s Check or Certified Check payable to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.

• Starting Bid of $10,000 or Less: $2,000 Deposit
• Starting Bid $10,001 to $200,000: $5,000 Deposit
• Starting Bid $200,001 or More: $10,000 Deposit

You may NOT leave the auction to obtain a deposit. If you fail to provide a deposit, the auctioneer will sell the property to the next highest bidder.

Final Payment Requirements:
The remaining balance must be paid via Cashier’s Check or Certified Check after the confirmation of the sale is filed and signed by the judge.

Online Auctions Payment Information:

Wire Deposits: Must be received by 5:00 p.m. (ET) two business days prior to the sale.

ACH Deposits: Must be received by 4:00 p.m. (ET) seven days prior to the auction date. Realauction exclusively handles deposits.

To complete online purchases, customers must make final payments at the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office using a Cashier’s Check or Certified Check.

In-Person Auctions:

Arrive early with a valid Photo ID and required deposit in the form of a Cashier’s Check or Certified Check.

The Wayne County Justice Center hosts auctions in the Commissioner’s Meeting Room.

Online Auctions:

Submit your deposit before the deadlines specified above.
