Brunswick County will host its upcoming Property Tax Foreclosure Auction on January 3, 2025, on the steps of the Brunswick County Courthouse in Bolivia, NC. The auction will proceed rain or shine.

Terms of Sale

Property Sold “As-Is”: All properties are sold in their current condition with no guarantees or warranties. Buyers are responsible for conducting due diligence prior to bidding.

Deposit Requirement: Winning bidders must pay a 5% deposit immediately after the auction via cash, certified bank check, cashier’s check, or money order. Personal checks will not be accepted.

Final Payment: Winning bidders have one week from notification to make full payment and receive a commissioner’s deed. The buyer is responsible for recording the deed with the Brunswick County Register of Deeds.

Failed Bids: If a winning bidder fails to complete payment, their deposit is forfeited, and the property will be resold. The county may impose legal consequences on defaulting bidders and bar them from future auctions.

Upset Bid Period: A 10-day upset bid period follows the auction. Higher bids must exceed the previous bid by at least 5% or $750, whichever is greater. Pay upset bids directly to the Clerk of Court at the Brunswick County Courthouse.

Attend the Auction: The auction will take place at the Brunswick County Courthouse. Bidders do not need to register to participate.

Prepare Funds for Deposit: Be ready to pay the 5% deposit immediately upon winning a bid.
