Robeson County will host its annual Delinquent Property Tax Sale on December 17, 2024, at the Robeson County Courthouse. Registration begins on-site prior to the auction, with bidding starting promptly at 12:00 p.m.

Terms of Sale

Deposit Requirement: A 20% deposit in cash or certified funds is required on the day of the sale.
Upset Bid Period: All sales are subject to a 10-day upset bid period during which additional bids may be placed.
Bid Includes: Taxes due, legal fees, recording costs, and document filing fees.
Properties are sold as-is, where-is, with no guarantees regarding the property’s condition or clear title.

How to Participate

In-Person Attendance:
All auctions are conducted in person at the Robeson County Courthouse. Remote or online participation is not available.

Bidding Process:
Each property opens with a minimum bid set by the County, covering taxes and attorney fees.
If you are the highest bidder, a 20% deposit is due immediately in cash or certified funds.

Upset Bid Period:
After the sale, a 10-day upset bid period begins.
Any upset bids must raise the previous bid by at least 5% or $750, whichever is greater.
If your bid is upset, you will be notified and may choose to place another bid.

Final Payment:
If no upset bid is placed after 10 days, the remaining balance is due for completion of the sale.
Following confirmation, the successful bidder will receive a Commissioner’s Deed or Sheriff’s Deed, depending on the foreclosure type.
