Eastland County Tax Sale Information

Eastland County will host its annual Delinquent Property Tax Sale on First Tuesday of the month, at 10:00 AM. The auction will take place at the Eastland County Courthouse, 100 W. Main, Eastland, Texas. Registration opens on-site prior to the sale, with bidding starting promptly at 10:00 AM. The auction will continue until all properties are sold.

Terms of Sale:

Full Payment Required: Bidders must provide full payment via cash or cashier’s check made payable to the officer conducting the sale. No partial payments will be accepted.
As-Is Sale: The county sells properties “as-is” with no warranties, expressed or implied, regarding title or condition. Title insurance may be difficult to obtain.
Non-Refundable: All sales are final. No refunds will be provided once a bid is accepted and payment is made.

Redemption Rights:

Properties purchased may be subject to a statutory right of redemption. For homestead, agricultural land, and mineral interests, the redemption period is two years. For all other properties, the redemption period is 180 days.If the property is redeemed, the purchaser is entitled to a refund of the purchase price plus a 25% premium in the first year or 50% premium in the second year, along with any taxes paid after the sale and costs expended for the property’s maintenance.

How to Participate:

Pre-Registration: Bidders must register on-site with a valid driver’s license or state-issued identification card. Registration begins before the sale starts.

Bid Requirements: Bidders must register in person and provide proof that they do not owe delinquent taxes in Eastland County or other local taxing entities. Without this proof, bidders will not receive the deed for any purchased properties.

Payment: Successful bidders must pay immediately after the sale via cash or cashier’s check. Failure to make payment will result in a penalty of 20% of the property’s value.
