Hernando County will host its upcoming Delinquent Property Tax Sale on September 3, 2025, at 10:00 AM ET. The auction will take place online via Hernando RealTaxDeed.

Terms of Sale

A non-refundable deposit of $200 or 5% of the winning bid, whichever is greater, must be paid immediately after the auction closes.

The remaining balance is due within 24 hours of the sale and must include recording fees and state documentary stamps of $0.70 per $100.00 of the bid.

Acceptable payment methods include wire transfer, cashier’s check, money order, or cash. Personal checks are not accepted.

How to Participate

Register: Create an account on the Hernando RealTaxDeed website to receive your username and password.

Deposit: Submit a $200 deposit or 5% of your anticipated highest bid before the auction. You can make deposits via ACH, wire transfer, or by delivering cashier’s checks or money orders to the Clerk’s office.

Bid: Use the online platform to participate in the auction. Proxy bidding is available to automatically place bids up to your maximum amount.

Final Payment: If you win, pay the remaining balance within 24 hours of the auction closing.
