Santa Fe Tax Sale Information

Santa Fe County will host a Public Auction Sale of Real Property for Delinquent Property Taxes on Friday, March 13, 2026, at the Santa Fe County Commissioners Chambers, 102 Grant Ave, Floor #2, Santa Fe, NM 87501.

The auction will begin at 10:00 AM and will continue until all listed properties have been offered.

The New Mexico Taxation and Revenue Department Property Tax Division conducts this tax deed sale under Section 7-38-65 NMSA 1978.

Register in person and obtain a bidder number before 10:00 AM

Pay in full before auction ends

Accepted payments: money order, certified check, cashier’s check, or personal/business check with bank letter of credit

The State of New Mexico does not guarantee title

Sale clears delinquent property tax liens only; other liens may remain

Former owner may challenge the sale within two years

Property may be subject to a 120-day IRS redemption period

  1. Review the published property list from the Property Tax Division.

  2. Conduct title research and check for existing liens or encumbrances.

  3. Confirm zoning, land use restrictions, and property access with the Santa Fe County Assessor and Planning offices.

  4. Prepare certified funds or approved payment instruments.

  5. Arrive early to register and receive your bidder number.
