Douglas County will hold its annual Delinquent Property Tax Sale Auction on the first Monday in March, at 7:00 AM CT via an online auction at the Douglas County Tax Sale Website. The auction will follow a fixed bid format, with tax liens sold at 14% interest per year, as required by Nebraska law.

Terms of Sale:

Deposit Rules: A deposit of at least $500 or 5% of expected winnings is required before bidding. Deposits must be made via ACH transfer on the auction website.

Payment Deadline: Successful bidders must complete final payments via ACH by 7:00 AM CT on March 3, 2025.

Interest Rate: Nebraska law sets the interest rate at 14% per year (simple interest).

Redemption Period: Buyers can start foreclosure after holding tax liens for three years.

Submit Required Documents: Provide W-9 tax forms and complete ACH payment details for deposits and final payments.

Review the Property List: The list of delinquent properties will be available online beginning February 6

Bid in the Auction: Bidding opens on February 6, and closes on first Monday in March. The county will randomly award properties to qualified bidders.
