Rusk County Tax Sale Information

Tatum Independent School District will hold its Delinquent Property Tax Sale on First Tuesday of the month, at the Rusk County Courthouse Door in Henderson, Texas. Registration is required before bidding, and the auction will begin at 10:00 AM.

Terms of Sale:

Bidders must be present to participate in the auction. Online or phone bids will not be accepted.

The grantee on the deed must be the same as the registered bidder (per Texas Tax Code Section 34.015).

The county will conduct the auction as a public sale, awarding the property to the highest bidder based on oral bids.

The buyer must make payment immediately after the auction by cashier’s check or wire transfer. They do not accept personal checks or credit cards

Purchasers receive a Sheriff’s Deed without warranty—All properties are sold “as is,” with no guarantees on the title or condition.

The statutory right of redemption applies. Homesteads, agricultural land, and mineral interests have a two-year redemption period. All other properties have a 180-day redemption period.

Successful bidders must cover post-judgment taxes. The minimum bid only includes taxes owed at the time of judgment, not any future tax obligations.

Register before the auction to be eligible to bid.

Bring valid identification to verify registration.

Research property conditions before bidding, as all sales are final.

Verify any outstanding liens or city maintenance fees that may apply to the property.
