Hall County will hold its annual Delinquent Property Tax Sale on the first Monday of March, at 9:00 AM at the Grand Island Public Library in Room CB, located at 1124 W 2nd St, Grand Island, NE.

Terms of Sale:

Pre-registration Required: All bidders must register by Friday before sale, at 4:30 PM. Registration forms are available on the Hall County Treasurer’s website.

Bidding Order: A round-robin system will be used, where each bidder gets a turn to choose a property in descending order of delinquent tax amount.

Payment: Winning bidders must pay all taxes, interest, and fees at the time of selection. Buyers must pay a $20 tax sale fee per property, and the county does not reimburse this fee upon redemption.

Foreclosure Rights: After three years, the buyer may begin foreclosure proceedings if the tax lien remains unpaid.

Subsequent Taxes: They encourage buyers to pay future delinquent taxes to maintain their interest in the property. The office will process requests for subsequent taxes after handling all mail.

How to Participate:

Register in Advance: Visit the Hall County Treasurer’s Office and submit your W-9 form, registration form, and a signed blank check before the deadline.

Check the Published List: The Grand Island Independent publishes the list of available properties for three consecutive weeks in February, and Hall County posts it on its website.

Attend the Auction: Arrive at the Grand Island Public Library by 9:00 AM on First Monday of March, for the sale. The staff will assign bidder numbers at check-in.

Select Your Tax Lien: When it’s your turn, choose an available property from the published list and pay the required taxes and fees.
