Kern County will host its upcoming Delinquent Property Tax Sale online from March 9 to March 11, 2026, through the GovEase platform. Registration is required prior to the auction to obtain a bidder ID. day.

Terms of Sale
All Properties Sold “As Is”: No guarantees are provided regarding the title, condition, or location. Buyers must conduct their own due diligence.
Title Limitations: Title companies may not insure properties purchased at public auctions for at least one year after the tax deed is recorded.
Finality of Sales: All sales are final and subject to California Revenue and Taxation Code Section 3712.
Documentary Transfer Tax: The final amount will include a tax of $0.55 per $500 of the purchase price.
The county assumes no liability for bonds, assessments, or IRS liens that may remain after the sale.
How to Participate
Register Online: Visit GovEase to register as a bidder. Registration closes prior to the sale date.
Obtain a User ID: After registering, bidders will receive a unique ID required for participation.
Auction Format: The auctioneer will auction properties by item number, starting with minimum bids and increasing in $100 increments.
Bidder Requirements: The last chance for redemption by the former owner ends at 5:00 PM on the final business day before the auction.
