St. Mary’s County will hold its annual Delinquent Property Tax Sale on Friday, March 6, 2026, as an online auction at the St. Mary’s County Tax Sale Website. Registration is open from February 6, 2026, to February 27, 2026, with bidding beginning at 10:00 AM ET.

Terms of Sale
All properties must be advertised in a local newspaper for four consecutive weeks before the sale.
Bidders must register online and submit a $100 refundable registration fee via ACH Debit authorization at the time of registration.
The minimum bid starts at the amount of taxes due. Bids cannot exceed two times the assessed value of the property or the total outstanding charges.
The interest rate for tax liens is 6% per year.
Successful bidders must pay the full amount due on the property, including taxes, penalties, and fees, immediately after the sale.
